Description:

A c1780-1850 Portguese Olive Jar - Large
These are incredibly cool Architectural pieces. These are Old Terracotta Olive and Olive Oil Jars. They used to bury these in the ground and just have the lip out of the ground and there would have been a wooden lid on top. This was to keep the temperature down, and to keep them from getting damaged and losing the contents.
This is late 18th Century to mid 19th century. Its in great condition. It measures 70cm high by 57cm diameter
