A Chilean Cowboy Wrangling Rope & a Cultrun Drum
These pieces are from Chile. The Cowboy rope is quite incredible. It is about 5 metres long and is a 5 strand leather woven rope that is very thick, very strong, and almost like a steel wire. It is a piece of Art. It has been paired with a Chilean Cultrun Drum. The cultrun is a ceremonial drum and the most important musical instrument in Mapuche culture. It is used by the machi (healer or sorcerer) for religious and cultural rituals. It is also used during the annual fertility rite of Ngillatun. It is made from Laurel or Beech wood with animal Hide Top stretched over it. Both these pieces are in excellent condition
