A Gold Fob Awarded to Returned WWI Aust' Officer - Rare!
This is a stunning piece of Gold Jewellery custom made for a returned Lance Corporal of the Australian WWI Armed Forces. It was presented to him by his Home town of Meriton in 1919 upon his return. It was made by renowned Australian Goldsmith / Jeweller Willis & Co of Melbourne (as marked) as well being marked 9ct. It features the map of Australia (in gold) with fob of cross rifles, with inscription to the back (all in gold)., Plus gold clasp, and gold shields on the silk sash. This is a very special piece. Total length is 26cm wide...can't beat the start price !
