A Late 19th Century Pr of Diamond Jubilee Brass Candlesticks
James Clews and Sons, Birmingham, were the foremost producers of brass candlesticks in the late 19thC. To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, they designed and produced a series of candlesticks which they called "Ace of Diamonds", "King of Diamonds" and "Queen of Diamonds". The designs were so popular that they were still in production until the start of the war in 1939. This pair is the King of Diamonds and were made in 1893. They are in excellent condition, and stand 32cm high
