A Rare Dutch Water Clock - 24 Hour Face
A Water clock is a clock rarely seen. They are a simple time piece device invented in Egypt and Greece 100's of years ago. This one is an outflow clock where you fill the main container with water, and as water drips out..... the plunger in the container attached to the chain drops, and the chain lowers turning the hands of the clock. This one is a Dutch Version with a Windmill etched into the brass base. Old Wood Worm Holes in the timber. This is a conversation piece if nothing else. Human Engineering and Ingenuity. Its in good physical condition and measures 84cm high by 26cm wide (across the face)... try and find one on the open market.
