A WWII Allied Air Force Silk Escape Map - Original & Rare !
A World War II British Air Ministry silk escape map of Germany (issued for downed airmen and Prisoners of War), 36 x 45 cm, framed and glazed. How cool is this. So if you got shot down or were lost in enemy territory this was a map printed on silk to show you safety escape routes back to England. Apparently it was printed on silk as it did not matter if it got wet, and as a last resort if you were injured you could use the silk as a torniquet. A Great Collectible in excellent condition. Talk about a conversation piece !!
