German E-Boat Kriegsmarine Badge - Marked Schwerin
The E-boat Badge was first instituted on May 30, 1941 and was designed by Wilhelm Ernst Peekhaus of Berlin. In 1941, the E-Boat offensive was stepped up and until that time E-Boat crews had received the same badge as the Destroyers. This is the first type of E-Boat badge made specifically for the crew of E-Boats. This piece has some gilded loss to the oak wreath, and is marked to the back Schwerin, Berlin 68. It measures 55mm long
