Born on November 14, 1888 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, he went on to study at the Liverpool Institute and School of Art, and worked as a deck boy on board tugboats and sailing ships. Arriving in Sydney, Australia in 1909, he spent 3 years sailing around the Australian coast until 1912, when he began painting commissioned paintings. His naval works were shown at the San Francisco Maritime Museum in 1969. In Sydney he held a successful exhibition in 1970 at Proud's Art Gallery, which was in celebration of the bicentenary of James Cook's landing in Australia. Allcott died on July 13, 1973 in Sydney, Australia. This Original Artwork is Dated 1930, and shows a dual Mast Sailing Ship at the mercy of a Storm at Sea.
