John Hall Thorpe (1874-1947) - Woodcut "The Open Gate"
John Hall Thorpe (29 April 1874 – 8 October 1947), invariably known as Hall Thorpe, was an Australian artist who achieved considerable success in England with his decorative Block prints of flowers, fruit and landscapes. This woodcut block print is titled "The Open Gate" and shows the view of a Farm through that open gate. This piece is in excellent condition and is signed "by Hall Thorpe". This piece measures approx 36cm by 28cm (not inc the matting and Framing). We have had a generous art collector advise me that this although a Hall Thorpe Woodcut, was probably signed by someone else after Thorpe had passed away, as he produced many works unsigned, and would not sign them with "By" before his name.

Tweed Heads, Mermaid Beach and the other is Southport. For all larger items just email us and we can suggest a number of carriers to assist with interstate or local door to door delivery. We do not have time to ship anymore so please understand you must use Pack & Send, or Furniture carriers for larger items. Collection time frame is strictly 5 days after the auction... which is by 5pm the Friday following the sale
