Medal to Commemorate the 2600th Year of Japanese Imperial Rule (1940 Issue)
This bronze medal is in immaculate condition and comes in its original box. This medal was issued in 1940. It was issued to commemorate the 2600th anniversary of Japanese Imperial Rule. It recognizes the founding of the Japanese Empire in 660BC. It features a Chrysanthemum above the image of the sacred double bridges leading to the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The reverse is a column of stylised Kansi Characters which translate "2600th Anniversary Commemorative Medal", issued in the Showa Era 15th year (1940)
