Museum Photographs - "The Monument Men" & Himmlers Wife in Custody !
Two original, WW2 photos taken by the 5th Army in Bolzand, Italy on the 15th of May 1945 by the Americans. Photos are likely courtesy of a sticky fingered solider/official who decided to snap them up as souvenirs as they remain classified and are clearly marked SECRET on the reverse, featuring detailed typewritten descriptions. One image depicts Heinrich Himmler's Wife and Daughter in custody. The other image shows artworks being recovered by the original "Monuments Men", who were depicted in the blockbuster 2016 film represented by an all star cast featuring John Goodman, Bill Murray, Matt Damon and George Clooney.
Extremely rare pieces of history which truly belong in a museum!
Both photos come complete with a certificate of authenticity from Whispers from the past Militaria and originate from the estate of world-renowned WW2 subject matter expert, historian and Vietnam war hero, Donald Boyle.
