Royal Doulton Baby's Plate Made for the Civil Service Stores Sydney circa 1902
This is a very early Royal Doulton Collectors Baby Plate made for the Civil Service Stores in Sydney. Civil Service stores was like a department store and it operated in Sydney from 1870 to 1930 when the impacts of the great depression closed it down and put it into receivorship.
The artwork in the plate shows the extent of the British Empire and its reaches with several British empire flags and their colonies.
Interesting piece. It is in excellent undamaged condition and measures 20cm diameter and 3cm deep.
