"The Darley Arabian" After John Wootton (1682-1765)
This is an Engraving from an original set of Three paintings done by John Wootton of Snitterfield (1682-1765) This one is titled The Darley Arabian, the other two are the Godolphin Arabian and The Byerley Turk. These three horses were the three dominant foundation Sires of Modern Thoroughbred Horse Racing Bloodstock. The Darley Arabian was bought in Aleppo Syria by Thomas Darley in 1704 and shipped back to England. This is a beautiful etching... framed under glass and ready to hang.
Its dimensions are 60cm by 55cm high
