The Grand Cross of the Iron Cross - WWI - Rare !
Did you know that only approx 20 people in WWI wore the Grand cross, which is about twice the size of the normal iron cross. The grand cross was worn from a ribbon around the neck and hung high covering the top neck button. The Grand cross was a decoration for Victorious Generals of the Prussian Army. The Grand cross was founded on Mar 10 1813 during the Napoleonic Wars. It was renewed in 1870 for the Franco-Prussian War and again in 1914 for WWI. This piece has come in from the estate of a Deceased Militaria collector. Please confirm absolute authenticity for yourself. This Grand Iron Cross measures 60mm wide by 67mm high
