A George III Caneware Plate c1820
A George III caneware plate from 1820, made by Schiller & Co. The surface is finely worked to depict what appears to be a Chinese village scene, with figures, boats, and natural elements rendered in subtle relief. It's both a rare decorative object and a distinctive example of early 19th-century craftsmanship. A historically rich piece from the time when Napoleon still roamed Saint Helena island.
