An Early Imari Hand-painted Charger - Signed
This is a stunner. It is a large Japanese Imari Charger with mark to the base indicating it is from the Bunka Bunsei period or Ogoshu Period in Japan which dates from 1804-1829. It is 40cm diameter, it is hand painted with birds and Flowers with a contrasting Celadon glaze to the inside rim of the piece. It is immaculate... no chips or damage, and comes with this excellent hand made Plate stand as well. This was from Sir James' Personal Collection. Remember for Sir James Henderson as consul general and ambassador for the Queen travelling the world. If its a piece in his personal collection... it really must be something. As this is.
